Can I Repair My Broken Car Key Myself? | Stu’s EZ Auto Remotes

Play Video

I’m pretty good with a screwdriver…

…so how hard could it be to fix my auto remote myself?

If the blade breaks free of the auto remote housing, you need a new key.  This kind of broken key can’t be repaired with a screwdriver (or any other types of tools).

Also, depending on what damage has occurred with the key, the electronics in the key head may need to be re-programmed.  Only experienced auto locksmiths have the equipment to do this.

If your car key is broken, bring it to our office and we’ll repair or replace the key for you at a reasonable cost.
